Herb of the Week: Discover Passionflower’s Healing Properties

Welcome to Herb of the Week!
Passiflora incarnata, commonly known as passionflower, is a gentle yet powerful nervine traditionally used to calm racing thoughts and ease nervous tension. This beautiful climbing vine supports the nervous system when stress, overstimulation, or restlessness begin to interfere with daily life. Herbalists often turn to passionflower for difficulty falling asleep, circular thinking, and that “tired but wired” feeling. Rather than sedating the body heavily, it works by softening mental intensity and helping the mind transition into rest. Passionflower reminds us that calm is not forced — it is invited.

Each week, we’ll get to know one plant deeply — from its actions and energetics to its folklore, uses, and personality in practice.

My goal is to help you build an intuitive relationship with herbs so that study becomes a conversation, not memorization.
